This is an exciting time for you and your family and our entire Blackburn team is ready to answer any questions you may have.  To help make this experience as easy as possible, we’ve created a simple checklist of all the important steps to buying your new home. 

New Home Buying Check List

1. Pick Your Personalized Floorplan – Blackburn Homes offers a variety of stunning, modern home designs for each of the communities we build.  Select from one of the many unique floor plans your chosen community has to offer. 
2. Choose Your Homesite – Every community we build in is a Blackburn community, which means all of the homesites are ours! You can explore the many different homesites we offer to find and pick your favorite!
3. Sign the Purchase Agreement – Once you’ve decided on a floor plan and your lot, you will need to sign the purchasing agreement to lock in your homesite and your floor plan at our current pricing. 
4. Earnest Money – As part of the signing of your purchase agreement, you will need to be prepared for your earnest money that will be held in escrow and applied towards your down payment once you close on the home.
5. Mortgage Pre-qualification Letter/ Proof of Funds Letter – If you’re getting ready to buy or build a new home, it’s always a good idea to get pre-qualified for your new home loan in advance. This also gives you the opportunity to set a budget, so you know in advance what you’ll want to spend on your new home. We have preferred lenders that we can recommend to make this process seamless for you.  You will need to email your pre-qualification letter/proof of funds letter to the sales office within 5 days of signing the purchase agreement.
6. Design Your New Home – Now that your Purchase Agreement is signed it’s time to visit our on-site design center to make your selections for your new home’s features and finishes.
